Established in 2000, TheJudge is an international broker specializing in legal risk insurance. With a presence in the UK, US, and Canada, TheJudge has played a pivotal role in shaping the After-the-Event Insurance (ATE) market over the last twenty years. Until 2020, the firm also engaged in litigation finance brokerage. Following its acquisition by Thomas Miller in 2021, the senior management team, in collaboration with Thomas Miller, launched Erso Capital, a dedicated litigation finance firm.

Matthew Amey serves as the Director of TheJudge and is a co-founder of the litigation funding entity Erso Capital. Acknowledged as a leading expert and innovator in litigation finance, Matthew has been instrumental in advancing litigation insurance and funding for nearly 25 years. He commenced his career as a litigation insurance underwriter before taking the helm at TheJudge in 2005 and subsequently co-founding Erso Capital in 2020.
